Intern (Communication and Events Assistant) closing date: 15 September 2009
3 to 6 months period


Department/Office: Secretariat General

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Maintain mailing lists and database of business contacts;
• Support the organization of YES activities and events;
• Support the YES Coordination manager by performing various administrative tasks and by researching information & materials regarding relevant topics;
• Contributing to the YES communication tools, such as the YES website and the YES newsletter;
• Attend and report on specific lobbying meetings;

Qualifications & Experience:
• Student or young graduate of economics or political sciences;
• Strong computer skills;
• Experience in performing administrative duties;
• Enthusiasm and desire to expand knowledge in various aspects of administration of an international organisation;
• Interest in learning/understanding about EU affairs and private sector issues advocacy (entrepreneurship);
• Interest in learning/understanding about functions of an Administration Department;

Language skills:
• Written and spoken proficiency in English; French an asset;
• Fluency in a member country language, preferably Italian, German or Spanish, would be an advantage;

Conditions: Unfortunately, we cannot provide any remuneration for internship, so we strongly recommend interns to apply with the Leonardo da Vinci Grant or a similar program to cover living costs.
