YES welcomes the new Commission and calls for education policies |

Brussels, Belgium, February 10, 2010 – YES,European Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs welcomes the new European Commission for the 2010-2014 mandate and calls for the promotion of new education policies to enhance innovation and research.
Yesterday the European Parliament voted to give its consent to the new European Commission by 488 votes to 137, with 72 abstentions. Following this vote, also the European Council formally appointed next commission by a written procedure.
"Being the first one to work under the Lisbon Treaty, the new Commission will play a fundamental role in shaping the European policy making for the next five years. As young entrepreneurs, we consider education as the crucial element to foster innovation and research in order to create new job opportunities and to stimulate the economic growth all over Europe” said YES President, Ivan Sempere.
YES extends its warmest congratulation to President Jose Manuel Barroso and to all the new Commissioners wishing for a fruitful cooperation with representatives of the business society over the next five years for a more innovative business environment in Europe.
